So happy with our seaspray puppy

Dear Peggy and Leslie,

I wanted to drop you a note to let you know how happy we are with our Seaspray puppy.  We were able to attend a Doodle day earlier this year and immediately fell in love with your dogs.   Dobby (Keeden and Mozart) has been home with us for about 3 months now.  We are so happy with the breed as well as the head start training she had at Leslie’s.  I really appreciated how responsive Leslie was to my questions and concerns as we waited for our puppy.    I appreciated the opportunity we had to meet the puppies when they were six weeks old.  It was so great to see my son Patrick interact with the all of the puppies.  We are pretty sure Dobby picked him that day!  Dobby has added a lot of love and joy to our house.  Patrick reminds me through out the day that we have the best dog and tells me he loves her so much.

Dobby is curious and playful but also calm and smart. She is such a loving dog and eager to please.  With the work Leslie did with her socializing and teaching her basic commands, we were able to take her to the soccer field and pet stores right away.  She loves meeting people and other dogs.  Her beautiful fleece coat gets many compliments.  She does great in her crate and willingly goes in when it’s time to ‘kennel up’.  I truly believe Dobby’s demeanor is directly correlated to all of the planning and work you both do in selecting the parents and making sure they are well cared for, as well as the round the clock care all of the puppies get once they are born. It has to be an exhausting, but rewarding job!

An Australian Labradoodle is such a great family pet and I can’t imagine a better breeder than Seaspray!

Sincerely,

Jenifer McHenry

Gracie is doing great and we are all having a fantastic time. We had neighbors ringing our doorbell Saturday afternoon to come and see Gracie. She loved it too! The best part is that she really seems to love it here, although she certainly misses Leslie and her siblings! She gets lots of love and individual attention as she has no competition for our time and my biggest challenge is to ensure she continues to follow the rules while we are all having fun. She races around the garage (we have an extra large garage with golf car garage with a full sliding screen opening) and the lanai/pool area chasing everything from her ball to her tail. I have made two mistakes and she hasn't made any yet. After a walk one day I didn't give her time to eliminate before we came in and she did shortly afterward in the house, and one time I forgot to close the kitchen gate while we all were in there and she slipped out and peed in a bedroom where she's not allowed to go. My bad both times. I didn't scold her but immediately took her outside and waited until he peed again and praised her.

We're couldn't be happier. I will honestly tell you that after raising several dogs during my lifetime I already know that investing in your training program is the single best investment after the proper breed selection. I have always tried to train my dogs properly, which takes a great deal of time and patience as you certainly know, but bringing a new puppy home to a strange environment increases the challenge for both the dog and the family. The basic behavior elements you have already ingrained in Gracie has made this experience so much more enjoyable and relieves us of the worry about doing it the proper way. This investment will pay for itself many times over for Gracie and for us. People who have visited marvel at how she knows to sit, not jump, etc. You should be very proud of your program.
